Spotlight at Czech National Television

On February 27, 2025, ČT24 (Czech Television) aired a segment highlighting Czech technological breakthroughs set to debut at the upcoming Expo 2025 in Osaka. Among the six showcased spin-offs was Pinflow Energy Storage, recognized for its vanadium redox flow batteries, a technology celebrated for its independent scalability of capacity and power.

What Makes Pinflow Stand Out

As explained in the broadcast, Pinflow's innovation separates storage capacity (via liquid electrolyte volume) from power delivery (via electrode area). Co-founder Jaromír Pocedič highlighted a breakthrough achievement: “Thanks to our university-based development, we've achieved current densities about 30-40 % higher than existing market solutions.” This leap enables larger systems at lower costs, prime qualities for Expo exposure and beyond.

Expo 2025: A Global Stage

Set on an artificial island in Osaka from April to October 2025, Expo 2025 focuses on AI, robotics, and future-forward technologies with a theme centered on “saving and strengthening life”. The Czech pavilion, designed by Apropos Architects, will present Pinflow among other innovations from Czech universities, aiming to engage delegates from over 160 countries.

Why It Matters?

  • World Exposure: Expo attendees and global media will see Pinflow's solution in person.
  • Safety & Scaling: Non-flammable electrolytes and modular design offer a compelling alternative to lithium-ion systems.
  • Academic Roots: Built on university research in Pilsen, Pinflow exemplifies Czech science-to-business success.
